Day 10 -- We Arrive in Richmond, VA on April 6

Our last day on the road takes us from Georgia to Virginia, with a stop for a lovely walk at a park in Charlotte, NC.  (I have tentatively chosen Robert L. Smith District Park, pending a query to ensure that it is legal to walk a dog there as long as he is on a leash and cleaned up after.)  The day is a bit longer than our previous days, nearly eight hours of driving, but I think it will be ok since we will reach the end of the journey.  It still should be light for the entire trip and allow time for rest stops.  Here is the route:

Day 9 -- Marching through Georgia

I keep finding places to camp!  On Day 9 (April 5) I drive from Bladon Creek State Park in Alabama to Hard Labor Creek State Park in Georgia.  I have put in a stop at Fisher Lake near Montgomery AL for a mid-day walk with Toro.  I hope and pray the weather is reasonable after I cross the mighty Mississippi.  As of today the 10-day forecast at Weather Underground shows good weather on the 10th day for both places, but as of now the last day shown is only March 31st.

My new binoculars came today, so I will be able to appreciate all the birds I'll encounter.  I also got a tripod adaptor for them, so I'm hoping I'll be able to do some star-gazing as well.  Here's the route:
